BIOGRAPHY
Greg Yu is an Award-winning composer and producer . He is also the co-founder of music house and audio post-production facilities Ker Sound Studios with over 400+ credits.
Born in France and growing up in a mixed French-Chinese cultural family environment, it was only natural for him to start exploring the world looking for different musical identities and he settled in Shanghai China where he is highly sought out for this innovation, versatility and his art of maximizing on production values.
Greg Yu signed his first cinematic score in 2006 with Zhang Disha‘s film drama "MATSA" and that would start his 15 years journey of Chinese culture exploration trough movie and cultural project.
In 2012 Greg is invited to compose the music for the first full 3D animation feature film "ZHENG HE, 1405" by Gao Yi featuring a 80 pieces orchestra and 40 members choir . In the meantime Greg works for International production such as Martin Donovan's "COLLABORATOR" culture and french movie "HOSTILES".
In 2014 he works with Luc Besson's Europacorp and partner Fundamental Films on "THE PRECIPICE GAME" by Zao Wang and Chinese Blockbuster comedy "SUPER EXPRESS" by Xiao Song.
His most recent project involved producer award James Cameron on "THE SIX" by Arthur Jones winner of the Vancouver Film Audience in 2021
Additionally, Greg is a veteran TV composer commercial with 15+ years working with AAA Agency and the most prestigious TV commercial campaigns (CHEVROLET, AUDI, VOLKSWAGEN, FORD, BUDWEISER, REDBULL, LANCOME) and had extensive experience in scoring trailer and music for video Games. His latest Video Games project "HELLO MARS" by UCCVR about space and Mars exploration was one the most sought after occulus VR game in 2017.
Greg is also fond of new technology and with his teammate and sound engineer Benjamin L'hotellier at KER SOUND they specialized in immersive music development (7.1, Atmos, VR , Hybri-naural) and are providing consulting for numerous new media as panelist and lecturer
